Mobile Advertising Leader Kargo Expands Team

Company’s Growth Totals 17 New Hires & 20 Promotions This Year

NEW YORK, June 8, 2018 — Kargo, the leader in mobile advertising is pleased to announce several promotions and new hires as the company continues to broaden its team of seasoned executives overseeing its programmatic strategy, award-winning campaigns and patented technologies.

These additions bring Kargo’s total number of new hires this year to 17, with an additional 12 positions open as the company aligns growth initiatives across research, marketing, communications, sales and creative services departments. The promotions elevate key performers to broader roles and functions. The new appointments and promotions include:

  • Joy Sybesma as Chief People & Culture Officer to manage the People Ops, Office Experience, Recruiting, L&D, IT and administrative functions in all offices internationally.

  • Greg Cappello as SVP, Marketing to oversee all sales and go-to-market efforts.

  • Ed Carey as SVP, Revenue and Partnerships to manage Kargo’s Global Client Trading and Business Development Teams.

  • Lauren Hendricks as SVP, Marketplace Sales will oversee Kargo’s Publishing and Agency teams, managing strategy and operations for the company’s international supply base.

  • David Bear as VP, Agency Partnerships to lead the Omnicom agency partnership team in North America.

  • Edric Chan as VP, Platform Operations to lead the Platform Operations team with a focus on transforming Kargo’s programmatic strategy.

  • Javier Kielmanowicz as VP, Engineering to lead the Creative Science and Infrastructure teams, overseeing all internal and externally facing operational platforms

  • Miller Knott as VP, Publisher Partnerships will lead the Publishing team’s day-to-day activities including the ongoing evaluation and scaling of Kargo’s publisher partnerships.

  • Sunil Murti as VP, Creative Services to manage all aspects of marketing creative services as well as Kargo’s award-winning Ad-Design team.

Biographies of the newly appointed and promoted executives are included below:

DAVID BEAR

Bear’s experience has ranged from working with small startup firms to Fortune 100 companies in business development, corporate development, sales, advertising, marketing, account management and consulting roles specifically focused in the digital advertising category. Earlier, Bear was Strategic Partnership & Global Agency Director for Quantcast. Prior to that, he led the Global Omnicom partnership at Microsoft Advertising and also served at BBDO, a leading Omnicom global creative agency network.

GREG CAPPELLO

Prior to joining Kargo in 2016 as Vice President of Product Marketing, SVP, Cappello served as Vice President of Product Management at Undertone and also held product and marketing positions at premier media companies including Time, Inc. and A&E Television Networks. In his new role, Cappello will also be responsible for managing research, corporate communications, events and Kargo’s world class creative services department.

ED CAREY

Previously, Carey served as Executive Vice President of Sales and has led the expansion of Kargo’s sales team in North America. He will continue to oversee the company’s overall revenue while focusing on revenue partnerships. Carey began his work with Kargo in 2017 as EVP, US Sales.

EDRIC CHAN

Chan has spent a majority of his career in digital advertising with roles from AdOps to Inventory Partnerships. Prior to joining Kargo, Chan was the Director of Inventory Partnerships at The Trade Desk, one of the fastest-growing demand-side platforms in the real-time bidding industry. He previously served as Director of Programmatic Solutions at Time Inc.

LAUREN HENDRICKS

Hendricks has led Kargo’s Publishing Partnership team since 2015. She and her team provide white-glove client service to an invitation-only collection of premium content publishers to more effectively monetize their mobile advertising inventory across mobile web, app and other content distribution platforms. Earlier in her career, Lauren held positions at Meredith Corporation, Conde Nast and Time Inc.

JAVIER KIELMANOWICZ

Kielmanowicz began his career at Kargo nearly six years ago and most recently served as Director of Engineering. He comes to the ad tech industry from a finance background, working at Wellington Management previously.

MILLER KNOTT

Knott joined Kargo’s publisher partnership team in 2014 and previously served as Senior Director, Publisher Partnerships. Prior to Kargo, Knott worked at Mediavest in New York where he handled the buying for Comcast, P&G ad Honda.

SUNIL MURTI

Murti previously served as Director of Creative Operations. Since joining Kargo three years ago, Murti has co-led Kargo’s Marketing Creative Services department, managing a team of creatives that produces best-in-class sales materials, digital and print marketing collateral and event design.

JOY SYBESMA

Sybesma previously served as SVP, People Operations. With over 12 years of experience in managing People Operations functions ranging from learning and development, recruiting, onboarding and employee relations, Joy previously was VP of HR at News America Marketing and also held various other positions including Director of HR and Manager of Sales Training. She began her career in HR at Macy’s.
